Liguria Bakery is a straightforward, no-frills bakery nestled in the heart of North Beach, known primarily for its focaccia bread varieties. This spot isn’t about frou-frou presentation or lingering over coffee but more about grabbing a fresh, honest piece of focaccia—whether you’re stopping by for a quick breakfast on the way to work or picking up dough to bake at home.

Walking into Liguria feels like stepping into a longtime neighborhood fixture. The shop’s vibe is utilitarian yet welcoming, with shelves stocked not only with their diverse focaccias but also related staple items like olive oil, canned tomatoes, and packaged dough. The staff are used to busy mornings where rhythm and speed matter, especially since their focaccia often sells out well before the afternoon.

The focaccia itself is the real draw. Locals favor the variety of toppings, from the classic rosemary and onion to standout flavors like jalapeño cheddar and pizza-style focaccia. The bread strikes a balance between soft, pillowy crumb and the chewy texture that focaccia fans appreciate. The pieces are generously sized, making them a solid grab-and-go meal or snack. That said, the focaccia is generally sold at room temperature, so it’s best enjoyed freshly bought or gently reheated at home.

Liguria’s location on Stockton Street anchors it within a busy pedestrian corridor not far from iconic North Beach neighborhood spots, making it an easy stop for commuters, tourists exploring the area, or locals craving familiar comfort food. It’s cash-only and tends to be less crowded early in the day. If you head over around opening, you can find ample parking nearby before the lunchtime rush kicks in.

Overall, Liguria Bakery suits those who appreciate straightforward, well-made bread with a local legacy behind it. It works especially well as a quick bite for folks on the move, home bakers looking for quality dough, or anyone who values traditional San Francisco focaccia with a handful of depth in flavors. The early hours are best to avoid the sellout phenomenon and savor the full selection of focaccia varieties.

Love the variety of foccacia flavours. Decided to go with their popular pizza flavour. The foccacia was soft, pillowy with a nice chewy texture to it. The staff offered to cut it into slices so that we could eat it on the go. It was delicious but unfortunately cold so I didn't enjoy it as much as I had expected to. Wished that it was served hot.

Went here on a Wednesday morning 20 minutes after opening. Wasn't busy and no lines. Parking wasn't too difficult to find. Loved the old school, no-frill vibes of the shop. They sold merchandise, olive oil, cans of tomato sauce, their own dough on the counter. I ordered a pizza focaccia and for the size you get it's absolutely worth it. The dough itself is very soft, fluffy and bready while the ingredients didn't exactly have a pizza flavor, but it was still delicious. I lightly toasted it a few days afterwards and I loved how it came out. Overall, a staple in the neighborhood for a reason. Homemade goodness. Good customer service. Highly recommend going.

Got me some a few months ago. This is clearly the best focaccia I’ve ever had. The hype is real. I tried plan, onion and pizza. All chopped into bags for me. All just amazing, maybe even addictive.

Hit up Liguria on my way to work on a weekday morning. It was super fast and fresh. Loved the bread. Next time I'll buy their dough for making pizzas at home. I'm sure it'll be amazing.

Hands down the best focaccia in the SF Bay Area. The pizza and raisin are my favorite. I've been coming here since the early 80s. You need to get here early because once they are sold out. They will closeshop.

First time here. Ordered the pizza focaccia and the rosemary garlic focaccia. You can taste the aroma of the tomato sauce and the light texture of the bread. The sauce didn't make the bread soggy as I was thinking it would. The garlic/rosemary was my favorite of the two. For you garlic and rosemary lover, this is the one you must try. Fresh garlic taste with the awesome smell of the rosemary. This would go great with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. You need to go early before they get sold-out. I will be back for other selections.

I can give this place 10 stars! Best focaccia in town. I went around 9:30 in the morning and they only had 3 flavors left! Tried jalapeño cheddar which was delicious and soft as a cloud! It’s huge and totally worthy for $8. Also they accept both card and cash.
